C12: An Intelligent Home Built From a Dorm Room

Born out of boredom, curiosity, and the occasional spark of genius, C12 is a personal smart home platform created from scratch in a university dorm room C12. The system blends voice control, IoT device automation, facial recognition security, rogue network detection, and more—all integrated into a unified ecosystem crafted with purpose and playfulness.

Core Innovation
C12 transformed a standard dorm room into an intelligent living space with features like Mycroft-powered voice commands, smart switches using GPIO motors, face-based access control, rogue AP detection for hacker defense, and integration with robotic components from a telepresence project. It reflects a hacker's curiosity translated into comfort and control.
Client
C12 — a personal experiment in building smarter, safer, and more interactive spaces, powered by code and curiosity.
